Ai has started flooding the crochet community, especially on Facebook groups and Etsy. If you're in any of the Facebook groups, you have probably seen the AI-generated crochet picture posts, and the poster asking if anyone knows the pattern for it.
When typing in 'crochet pattern' on Etsy, out of the top 4 things, the 4th one (owl bookmark) is AI! When you click it and read the reviews, they're 1* and consist of people saying that the pattern doesn't make what's seen in the picture. And the issue is.. Etsy are allowing AI listings, all over, not just crochet.

AI cannot create cohesive, good patterns. There are many places to see proof of this, here's one YouTube video by Omazingpaige, which is her following an AI generate pattern.
These AI-written patterns being up for sale are now scamming crochet artists who don't know much about AI/anything about AI, or how to spot AI - and it's awful! Make sure to do lots of research and read the reviews if you're unsure on a pattern!
